La Marina Lighthouse, Lima Peru
This lighthouse is special to me because I visited it with my 2 great friends. In Spanish, it is called Faro La Marina. It is an active lighthouse situated in Parque el Faro, on a high cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. History says that the lighthouse was originally constructed in 1900 at Punta Coles. It was dismantled and reconstructed in Miraflores. It is a 72 ft. iron tower with a gallery and a lantern. Sturdy and charming. The lighthouse is not open to public, so we didn't get a chance to climb the top. However, seeing it standing still facing the Pacific Ocean was enough reason to admire it. I can live in one of those condo houses, and have the lighthouse and the Pacific Ocean as my window view. My visit to Lima, Peru with John and Jenny was a fun experience.
