La Marina Lighthouse, Lima Peru
This lighthouse is special to me because I visited it with my 2 great friends.
In Spanish, it is called Faro La Marina. It is an active lighthouse situated in Parque el Faro, on a high cliffs above the Pacific Ocean.
History says that the lighthouse was originally constructed in 1900 at Punta Coles. It was dismantled and reconstructed in Miraflores. It is a 72 ft. iron tower with a gallery and a lantern. Sturdy and charming.
The lighthouse is not open to public, so we didn't get a chance to climb the top. However, seeing it standing still facing the Pacific Ocean was enough reason to admire it. I can live in one of those condo houses, and have the lighthouse and the Pacific Ocean as my window view.
My visit to Lima, Peru with John and Jenny was a fun experience. Peru is a beautiful country with similar culture and environment like the Philippines. Visiting Senor De Los Milagros church was the highlight of our trip. It was nice to experience the culture and indulge our appetite with delicious Peruvian Cuisine.
Exploring a lighthouse in other country is a great opportunity for me. My wonderful memories traveling to Lima, Peru include seeing La Marina Lighthouse. I am glad to have experienced it with my friends.
